DNA Gel Loading Buffers
10X DNA Gel Loading Dye with Glycerol
- 0.5% bromophenol blue
- 0.5% xylene cyanol FF
- 50% glycerol
Prepare in ultrapure water. Store at 4 °C.
6X DNA Gel Loading Dye with Ficoll
- 0.25% bromophenol blue
- 0.25% xylene cyanol FF
- 15% Ficoll (Type 400, Pharmacia)
Prepare in ultrapure water.
- Use only Ficoll loading dye with TBE gels — glycerol will interact with boric acid.
- If you desire, you can add EDTA at 10 mM final concentration to your DNA loading dye.
